How to use the social media image resizer
- Drop one or more images onto the drop zone or click to choose them.
- Tick the sizes you need. They are common recommended sizes; check each platform's current guidance for important posts.
- Choose "Fill frame" to crop to the exact shape, or "Fit inside" to show the whole image on a background colour.
- Click the most important part of the image to set the focal point, and check the preview.
- Click Export and download the images or a ZIP.
Worked example
A 2000 x 1000 banner as an Instagram square post
With "Fill frame" and the focal point in the centre, the tool takes the middle 1000 x 1000 area and scales it to 1080 x 1080. Moving the focal point to the far left takes the left 1000 x 1000 instead. With "Fit inside", the whole banner is scaled to 1080 x 540 and centred with 270 pixel bands of background colour above and below.
How it works
Fill: the largest area with the target aspect ratio is cut from the image, positioned so the focal point is as central as possible without leaving the image, then scaled with high quality step-down resizing. Fit: the whole image is scaled to fit inside the target and centred on the background colour.

Are my files uploaded?
No. Images are processed in your browser on your own device and are never sent to our server. The page keeps working if you go offline after it loads.
Are these the official sizes?
They are commonly recommended sizes. Platforms update their guidance and crop images differently on phones and desktops, so check each platform's current help pages for important campaigns.
What is the focal point for?
When the image is cropped to a different shape, the focal point decides which part is kept. Click on a face or product to keep it in frame.
Will small images be enlarged?
Yes, if the image is smaller than the chosen size. The file list notes when an output was enlarged, since enlarging cannot add detail.
Limitations
- Images up to 50 MB each are accepted. Very large images (tens of megapixels) depend on device memory, and iPhones and iPads limit canvases to about 16.7 megapixels.
- Up to 20 images at a time.
- Platform safe zones (areas covered by buttons or profile photos) are not shown.
