About these video and audio tools
Convert MP4 to MP3, compress and resize videos, convert between video and audio formats, trim audio and make or compress GIFs, all without uploading anything.
The tools use FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. It downloads once (about 30 MB) the first time you use a tool, then your browser caches it. Processing speed depends on your device, so long or high-resolution videos can take a while.
Questions
Are my videos uploaded?
No. FFmpeg runs inside your browser tab, so your files stay on your device.
Why is the first run slower?
The first time, your browser downloads the FFmpeg WebAssembly engine. After that it is cached and tools start faster.
Is there a file size limit?
Yes. Browsers limit how much memory a tab can use, so each tool states its maximum file size. For very large files a desktop app is a better fit.
