How to use the AI Content Detector
- Paste the text you want to check. Several paragraphs give a more meaningful reading than a sentence or two.
- Select Analyse text.
- Read the assessment and the quoted signals that point towards AI or human writing.
- Treat the result as one opinion. Never use it as the only evidence against a student, writer or employee.
Worked example
A 400-word product review
The result might read "Unclear or mixed", quoting a very even sentence rhythm and generic phrases as AI-like signals, and a specific personal anecdote and an informal typo as human-like signals.
How it works
A large language model reviews the text for patterns associated with machine-generated writing (uniform rhythm, generic hedging, repeated structures, missing specifics) and for human signals (personal detail, irregular style). It returns a three-level assessment with the evidence quoted. We deliberately do not show a percentage, because no detector can measure authorship that precisely.

- Short, formal, technical or heavily edited text is often impossible to judge and is reported as unclear.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate are AI detectors?
Not accurate enough to prove anything. Independent research has found that detectors produce false positives, especially for non-native English writers and formal writing, and that light editing defeats them. That is why this tool explains its reasoning instead of giving a score.
Why no percentage score?
A precise-looking number suggests a certainty that does not exist. A three-level opinion with quoted evidence is more honest and easier to check yourself.
Is the output original and accurate?
AI text is generated from patterns in training data. It can contain mistakes, outdated information or phrasing similar to existing text. It is not guaranteed to be original, plagiarism-free or factually accurate, so review and edit it before use.
Do you store what I type?
Your input is sent to our AI provider to produce the result. We log only usage counts and sizes for rate limiting and cost control, not the text itself. Avoid entering passwords, payment details or sensitive personal data.
Is there a usage limit?
Yes. To keep the tool free, each visitor has a daily number of generations and there is an overall daily cap. The limit resets at midnight UTC.
Limitations
- Requires an AI provider to be configured by the site administrator. If it is not available, the form still loads but generation is disabled.
- Free use is rate limited per visitor and per day.
- The model has no access to the internet or your accounts, and it may state things confidently that are wrong.
- Cannot prove who or what wrote a text. Results can be wrong in both directions.
